God has been so good!

This week has been an answer to prayer. One of the things we’ve been learning about being on the field is ATL. I wrote about that in my previous blog, but here is a little bit of a deeper explanation. We have designated ATL days which means “ask the Lord” and the vision behind it is taking time to pray about what the Lord wants for you that day. It is completely Spirit led, we all get to pray individually, spend time in His presence and it’s a time to hear God’s voice. It has been so amazing to see how much unity there is in the body because even though we may be praying individually we all get very similar things that correlate with each other.

This past Sunday 2 other girls in my group felt to go to Antigua for church and to go out and Evangelize with people in town! Afterwards, we walked toward the square and this is when the Lord answered one of our prayers. She had felt the Lord wanted her to speak and pray over people that could speak English. THAT’S WHEN A GROUP OF ENGLISH STUDENTS APPROACHED US!!!! They were in town doing a school project, but we got to speak to them and pray over them as well!! Glory to God!!

Then we stopped by a coffee shop for some coffee and lunch! 10/10 btw, but this is when I got approached by an older man trying to sell jewelry. I felt like the Lord had put it on my heart to embed myself into the culture more and have genuine conversations with the people here in Guatemala over a meal. Now, this man wanted me to buy jewelry from him so that he could buy food since he hadn’t eaten. This was literally Jesus. I was able to bless him with a meal and coffee AND I got to sit and have a genuine conversation with him. He opened up to me about his life and this is when I got to share the gospel with him. He had shared that he prays whenever he goes to Antigua so his sales would go well so that he would be able to buy food that day. This was such a reminder that if we willingly surrender our lives to Jesus, He will use us as His vessels to bless other people. I was able to buy food for him and remind him that it was not a gift from me, but a blessing from God. I reminded him that Jesus hears our prayers and that we are always seen by Him.

I had asked to pray over him, and at first he was hesitant. He shared that he had lived a life far from Jesus and that what he had done in life separated him too much from God. This is when I had the opportunity to share my testimony with him. I told him that I had lived a life away from the Lord as well, and did a lot of things that I had also regretted. I reminded him that the beautiful thing about Jesus is that he willingly forgives us despite all we have done. That no matter the sin we have committed, if we come with a heart of repentance, Jesus forgives us. He then allowed me to pray over him, and I just felt the Lord put these 3 things on my heart for him. That he is seen by God, heard, and undeniably loved and I just got to pray these things over him as well. Then he prayed over me, which was so tender!!

I was so nervous going into this conversation because it was fully in Spanish. Yes I speak the language, but I’ve never shared the gospel with anyone in Spanish let alone prayed over somebody in Spanish. Plus, in ministry I always have someone else to rely on incase I don’t know how to say something. In this situation Jesus taught me the only person I need to rely is him. He completely filled me with the Holy Spirit and it ended up being such a fluid conversation!! Praise Jesus! I left that situation reminded AGAIN that I serve a real, active, and living God. Jesus calls us to go out and preach the gospel to ALL nations. He equips us with the authority of the Holy Spirit, all we need to do is be willing. No matter the language barrier, the cultural differences, and even the religious differences we must go out and proclaim the good news to everyone!!

AHH Jesus is so good!! He is doing so much in this country and it is such a privilege being apart of it!! To spreading the gospel in the streets of Antigua, to teaching VBS in out kids ministry and English classes!! He has been faithful through it all! If you feel led to partner with me here is the link to give! I am officially 65% funded which means I have $7,470 left!! It would mean so much for you to partner with me in all God is doing in the nations!!

here are a couple of cutie photos from these past couple of weeks!!
